SPECIAL MEETING
July 20,2015
A.Call to Order —The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order by Mayor
Peard at 4:58 p.m.at Waukee City Hall,230 W.Hickman Rd.
B.Roll Call —The following members were present:Mayor William F.Peard;Council Members Shane
Blanchard,Brian Harrison,Casey L.Harvey,Rick Peterson.Absent:Council Member Shelly
Hughes.
Also in attendance:City Administrator Tim Moerman,City Clerk Rebecca D.Schuett.
C.Agenda Approval —Council Member Harrison moved to approve the agenda;seconded by Council
Member Harvey.Results of vote:Ayes:Blanchard,Harrison,Harvey,Peterson.Nays:None.
Absent:Hughes.Motion carried 4 —0 —1.
D.Closed Session:Pursuant to Code of iowa $21.5(1)(i)to evaluate the professional
competency of anindividual whose appointment,hiring,performance,or dischargeis being
considered when necessary to prevent needless andirreparableinjury to thatindividual's
reputation and that individual requests a closed session —Council Member Harvey moved to
close the regular session and enter closed session pursuant to iowa Code 521.5(1)(i);seconded by
Council Member Harrison.Results of vote:Ayes:Blanchard,Harrison,Harvey,Peterson.Nays:
None.Absent:Hughes.Motion carried 4 —0 —1.Council entered closed session at 5:00 p.m.
CLOSED SESSION
Council entered regular session at 5:22 p.m.
E.Resolution:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving the employment evaluation
and salary adjustment recommendation concerning the City Administrator —Council Member
Harvey moved to approve the resolution with a 2.2%salary increase effective July 1,2015;
seconded by Council Member Peterson.Mayor Peard noted that the salary increase was the same
percentage as was previously approved for other non-represented positions.Results of vote:Ayes:
Blanchard,Harrison,Harvey,Peterson.Nays:None.Absent:Hughes.Motion earned 4 —0 —1.

Adjournment —Council Member Harvey moved to adjourn;seconded by Council Member Blanchard.
Ayes:All.Nays:None.Motion carried 4 —0.
