SPECIAL MEETING
March 7,2016
A.Call to Order —The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order by Mayor Pro Tem
Peterson at 7:15 p.m.at Waukee City Hall,230 W.Hickman Rd.
B.Roll Call —The following members were present:Council Members Shelly Hughes,Larry R.Lyon,Rick
Peterson.Absent:Mayor William F.Peard;Council Members Shane Blanchard,Brian Harrison.
Also in attendance:City Administrator Tim Moerman,Finance Director Linda Burkhart,Human
Resource Director Patty Holden,Police Chief John Quinn,City Clerk Rebecca D.Schuett,City Attorney
Steve Brick.
C.Agenda Approval —Council Member Lyon moved to approve the agenda;seconded by Council
Member Hughes.Results of vote:Ayes:Hughes,Lyon,Peterson.Nays:None.Absent:Blanchard,
Harrison.Motion carried 3 —0 —2.
D.Action Items:
1)Resolution:Consideration of approval of a resolution authorizing the Mayor and City
Administrator to execute a Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Communications
Workers of America (CWA),Local ¹7102,AFL-CIO —Council Member Lyon moved to approve
the resolution;seconded by Council Member Hughes.Results of vote:Ayes:Hughes,Lyon,
Peterson.Nays:None.Absent:Blanchard,Harrison.Motion carried 3 —0 —2.(Resolution ¹16-
083)
