(B)Pledge of Allegiance (C)Roll Call —The following members were present:Mayor William F.Peard;Council Members Anna Bergman,R.Charles Bottenberg,Brian Harrison,Shelly Hughes (via telephone),Larry R.Lyon. Absent None. Also present:City Administrator Tim Moerman,Finance Director Linda Burkhart,Development Services Director Brad Deets,Public Works Director John Gibson,Community and Economic Development Director Dan Dutcher,Marketing and Communications Director Summer Evans, Human Resource Director Patty Holden,Police Chief John Quinn,City Clerk Rebecca D.Schuett, City Attorney Steve Brick. (D)Open Forum (E)Agenda Approval —Council Member Harrison moved to approve the agenda;seconded by Council Member Bergman.Results of vote:Ayes:Bergman,Bottenberg,Harrison,Hughes,Lyon.Nays: None.Motion carried 5 —0. (F)Mayor's Report —Mayor Peard accepted the Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce 2017 Large Business Member of the Year award on behalf of the City at the 02/02 Chamber annual dinner.On 02/07,he will attend the iowa I eague of Cities annual legislative day.02/10 is the deadline for 2016 Citizen of the Year nominations.On 02/11,the Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce will host a legislative coffee.All City offices will be closed 02/20 in observance of Presidents'Day.Mayor Peard welcomed Council Member Bottenberg to the council. (G)Presentations: 1)Property maintenance update —Development Services Director Deets briefly updated the council regarding construction site maintenance concerns in the Brookridge neighborhood,noting that the developer is responsive to those concerns. 2)Ankeny Sanitation,Inc.,six-month report —Report made by Ankeny Sanitation General Manager Dave Massey.Mr.Massey also presented the City with a recycling rebate check. (H)Public Hearings: 1)On plans,specifications,form of contract and estimate of cost [SE Westown Parkway Extension and Grand Prairie Parkway Greenbelt Weirs,SE Parkview Crossing Drive to Grand Prairie Parkway]—Mayor Peard opened the public hearing and asked if any written correspondence had been received;City Clerk Schuett replied in the negative.Public Works Director Gibson presented on the project,which includes a pedestrian crossing and street lighting.No comments were made by the public present. (I)Public Hearing Action items: 1)Resolution:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving plans,specifications, form of contract and estimate of cost jSE Westown Parkway Extension and Grand Prairie Parkway Greenbelt Weirs,SE Parkview Crossing Drive to Grand Prairie ParkwayJ —Council Member Bergman moved to approve the resolution;seconded by Council Member Lyon.Results of vote:Ayes:Bergman,Bottenberg,Harrison,Hughes,Lyon.Nays:None.Motion carried 5 —0.
