SPECIAL MEETING
June 19,2018
A.Call to Order —The special meeting of the Waukee City Council was called to order by Mayor Peard at
5:08 p.m.at Waukee City Hall,230 W.Hickman Rd.
B.Roll Call —The following members were present:Mayor William F.Peard;Council Members Anna
Bergman,Courtney Clarke,Shelly Hughes,Larry R.Lyon.Absent:Council Member R.Charles
Bottenberg.
Also in attendance:City Administrator Tim Moerman,IT Director Son Le,City Clerk Rebecca D.
Schuett.
C.Agenda Approval —Council Member Bergman moved to approve the agenda;seconded by Council
Member Lyon.Results of vote:Ayes:Bergman,Clarke,Hughes,Lyon.Nays:None.Absent:
Bottenberg.Motion carried 4 —0 —1.
D.Action Items:
1)Ordinance:Consideration of approval of an ordinance to amend Section 228.08 of the
Waukee Municipal Code to exempt golf course operations and maintenance activities from
Chapter 228 of the Waukee Municipal Code (third (final)readingj-Council Member Bergman
moved to approve the third reading of the ordinance in title only and place it on final passage;
seconded by Council Member Clarke.Results of vote:Ayes:Bergman,Clarke,Hughes.Nays:
Lyon.Absent:Bottenberg.Motion carried 3 —1 —1.(Ordinance ¹2891)
2)Resolution:Consideration of approval of a resolution approving the temporary closing of
Snyder Street from Aidan Street to Emerson Lane on Saturday,June 30,2018,between the
hours of 3:00 p.m.and 11:00p.m.for the purpose of a neighborhood block party —Council
Member Lyon moved to approve the resolution;seconded by Council Member Clarke.Results of
vote:Ayes:Bergman,Clarke,Lyon.Nays:None.Abstentions:Hughes.Absent:Bottenberg.
Motion carried 3 —0 —1 —1.(Resolution ¹18-255)

Council Member Lyon moved to adjourn;seconded by Council Member Hughes.Ayes:All.Nays:None.
Motion carried 4 —0.
