AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 501,WAUKEE MUNICIPAL CODE,
REGARDING U-TURNS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,
IOWA.
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee has determined that it in the public's best interest to
clarify Section 501.37 of the Waukee Municipal Code regarding prohibited U-turns at certain
intersections within the City;AND
BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waukee:
Section I:Section 501.37,Waukee Municipal Code,Prohibited Turning Movements,U-
Turns,is hereby amended as follows:
tj501.37 U-Turns.It is unlawful for a driver to make a U-turn except at an intersection;
however,U-turns are prohibited within the Business District,at the following designated
intersections and at intersections where there are automatic traffic signals.(Code of Iowa,
Sec.321.236[9])
I.At the intersection of SE Florence Drive and SE University Avenue.
2.At the intersection of SE L.A.Grant Parkway/SE Ashworth Drive and SE
University Avenue.
Section 2 Re ealer.All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions
of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3.Severabili Clause.If any section,provision or part of this ordinance shall
be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional,such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the
ordinance as a whole or any section,provisions or part thereof not adjudged invalid or
unconstitutional.
Section 4.Effective Date.This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final
passage,approval and publication as provided by law.
