AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 501,WAUKKE MUNICIPAL CODE,
REGARDING THE SPEED LIMIT ON ALICE'S ROAD WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS
OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA.
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee has determined that the speed limit ordinance concerning
Alice's Road needs to be clarified to reflect the existing speed limits north of University Avenue in
the City of Waukee.
BK IT THEREFORE ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waukee:
Section 1:Chapter 501,Waukee Municipal Code,Regulation of Traffic Upon and Use
of the Streets of Waukee,Iowa,is hereby amended by changing Section 501.9(F)(5)to read as
follows:
$501.9(F)(5)Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions,the speed limit on
the west half of Alice's Road,also known as R-30,from the northern city
limits of Waukee,to the north line of Douglas Avenue,extended,is 35
miles per hour;and the speed limit from the north line of Douglas Avenue,
extended,to the north line of University Avenue,is 45 miles per hour on
both sides of said Alice's Road within the city limits of the city of
Waukee.
Section 2 Re ealer.All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions
of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 2.Severabili Clause.If any section,provision or part of this ordinance shall
be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional,such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the
ordinance as a whole or any section,provisions or part thereof not adjudged invalid or
unconstitutional.
Section 4.Effective Date.This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final
passage,approval and publication as provided by law.
Passed by the Council this 21"day of December,2015,and approved this 21"day of December,
2015.
