AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 501,WAUKEK MUNICIPAL CODE,
TRAFFIC REGULATIONS OF THK CITY OF WAUKKK,IOWA AS SPECIFIED
BELOW
WHEREAS,development activity has occurred along LA Grant Parkway which includes
the constniction of several educational facilities,single family residences and increasing vehicular
and pedestrian traffic around the area and it is recommended that the speed liinits be changed in
light of the changing characteristics of the area.
BK IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waukee:
Section 1:Chapter 501,Waukee Municipal Code,Traffic Regulations,is hereby amended
by changing Section 501.9(F)(1C)as follows:
)501.9(F)(1C)The speed limit on L.A.Grant Parkway from University Avenue to
125 feet north of the Westown Parkway intersection shall be 35 mph.
Section 2:Chapter 501,Waukee Municipal Code,Traffic Regulations,is hereby
amended by changing Section 501.9(F)(6)as follows:
)50L9(F)(6)On the following-described streets,the maximum speed limit with
the variable display speed limit signs and beacons in operation shall be 25 mph,
The maximum speed limit with variable display speed limit signs and beacons not
activated shall be 35 mph.The hours of operation shall be established by the
Public Works Department.
a.On Ashworth Drive from 75 feet east of the middle of its
intersection with Warrior Lane to 245 feet north of the middle of
its intersection with University.
b.On Boone Drive from a point 54 feet south of the North city limits and on
Boone Drive,south to a point 303 feet north of the iniddle of the
intersection of Boone Drive and Westwood Drive.
c.On SE L.A.Grant Parkway from 125 feet north of the middle of its
intersection with Westown Parkway to middle of its intersection with
Ashworth Road.
Section 3.Re ealer.All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions
of tliis ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4.Severabili Clause.If any section,provision or part of this ordinance shall
be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional,such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the
ordinance as a whole or any section,provisions or part thereof not adjudged invalid or
unconstitutional.
Passed by the Council the 6"day of October,2014,and approved this 6"'day of October,2014.
