HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-12-16-Ordinance 2754_Utilities Committee, RepealORDINANCE NO.2754 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING CHAPTER 227 OF THE WAUKEE MUNICIPAL CODE WHICH ESTABLISHED THE UTILITIES COMMITTEE,A STANDING COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE WHEREAS,The City of Waukee created the Utility Committee as a stauding committee to perform a continuing function of providing information,review or research of a topic involving utility related matters to be considered by the City Council;AND WHEREAS,since the Committee was established the City has experienced extensive growth aud City staffing and outside resources have been enhanced as the City has grown;AND WHEREAS,the City has increasingly relied on City staff,aud the outside professionals which work with the City,to develop and provide information relevant to the operation and financing of the Utilities of the City which has diminished the work previously performed or aided by the Utilities Committee;AND WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Waukee believes it is in the best interest of the City that the Utilities Committee be eliminated. BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED by the City Council ofthe City of Waukee: Section 1.Chapter 227 ofthe Waukee Municipal Code should be aud the same is hereby repealed. Section 2.Repealer.All ordinances or parts of ordinances Ul conflict with the provisions of tills ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3.Severahility Clause.If any section,provision or part of tins ordinauce shall he adjudged invalid or unconstitutional,such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section,provisions or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. Section 4.Effective Date.Tills ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final passage,approval aud publication as provided by law.
