AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 113,ELECTION PRECINCTS WITHIN THE
CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA,BY REPEALING SAID SECTION AND ENACTING NEW
ELECTION PRECINCTS AS SPECIFIED BELOW:
Section 1.Chapter 113,Waukee Municipal Code,Election Precincts within the City is
hereby amended by repealing said section in its entirety and enacting in lien thereof the following:
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City ofWankee:
§113.1 Election Precincts.There are hereby established election precincts within the City of
Waukee,Iowa,described as follows:
A.Precinct 1.-Election precinct 1 is that part of the City lying south of the centerline of
W.Hickman Road (US.Highway 6),north of the centerline of University Avenue (300th Street)and
west of the centerline of Warrior Lane.
B.Precinct 2.-Election precinct 2 is that part of the City lying north ofthe centerline of
W.and E.Hickman Road (U.S.Highway 6)as well as an area south of the centerline ofE.Hickman
Road which shall be defined as areas west of the centerline of SE Westgate Drive,north of the
centerline of SE Olson Drive,east of the centerline of SE Cardinal Lane,north ofthe centerline of SE
Windfield Parkway and east of the centerline of Warrior Lane.
C.Precinct 3.-Election precinct 3 is that part of the City lying south of the centerline of
E.Hickman Road (US.Highway 6),north of the centerline of University Avenue (300th Street),
west of the centerline ofSE Waco Place and east of the centerline of Warrior Lane,except all area
south ofthe centerline ofE.Hickman Road which shall be defined as areas west ofthe centerline of
SE Westgate Drive,north of the centerline of SE Olson Drive,east of the centerline of SE Cardinal
Lane,north of the centerline of SE Windfield Parkway and east of the centerline of Warrior Lane.
D.Precinct 4.-Election precinct 4 is that part of the City lying south of the centerline of
E.Hickman Road (U.S.Highway 6),north of the centerline of SE University Avenue (300th Street)
and east of the centerline of SE Waco Place.Pursuant to a memorandum of agreement,this precinct
shall also contain that portion of the City of Clive in Dallas County lying west of the centerline of
NW 142nd Street and north of the centerline ofSE University Avenue not contiguous to the
remainder of the City of Clive in Dallas County."
E.Precinct 5.-Election precinct 5 is that part of the city lying south of the centerline of
SE University Avenue (300th Street)/University Avenue (3001h Street),west of the centerline ofSE
LA Grant Parkway and north of the centerline of Ashworth Road,that part of the city lying west of
the centerline of Ute Avenue (R-22)and south of the centerline of Ashworth Road as well as those
portions of Boone Township within unincorporated Dallas County lying north of the centerline of
Ashworth Road and west of the centerline ofSE LA Grant Parkway (V Avenue),the portions of
Boone Township within unincorporated Dallas County lying south of Interstate 80,west of Ute
Avenue (R-22)and north of360th Street,and the portions of Boone Township lying south of the
centerline of Ashworth Road,west of the centerline of Ute Avenue,and north of the centerline of
Cottonwood Drive.
F.Precinct 6.-Election precinct 6 is that part of the city lying south of the centerline of
SE University Avenue (300th Street)and north of Interstate 80 not contained in Precinct 5 as well as
those portions of Boone Township within unincorporated Dallas County lying south of the centerline
of Ashworth Road,north of Interstate 80 and east of the centerline of Ute Avenue (R-22).
Section 2.Repealer.All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions
of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3.Severability Clause.If any section,provision or part of this ordinance shall be
adjudged invalid or unconstitutional,such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as
a whole or any section,provision,or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 4.Effective Date.This ordinance shall be in effect upon its final passage,approval
and publication as provided by law.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,this 8th day of August,2011,and approved
this 8th day of August,2011.
