AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 500,TRAFFIC ORDINANCES,CITY OF
WAUKEE,IOWA,BY AMENDING SECTION 501.29 TRUCK ROUTES
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waukee:
Section 1.Chapter 500,Waukee Municipal Code,Traffic Ordinances of the City of
Waukee,Iowa,Section 501.29 Truck Routes is hereby repealed and enacted in lieu thereof is as
follows:
A.Every motor vehicle weighing five (5)tons or more,when loaded or empty,having
no fixed terminal within the city or making no scheduled or definite stops within the
city for the purpose of loading or unloading or commercial stop,shall travel over or
upon the following streets within the city and none other:
6th Street (R-22)between W Hickman Road and the south city limits
10th Street (R-22)between W Hickman Road and the north city limits
NE/SE Alice's Road between SE University Avenue and the north city limits
SE LA Grant Parkway hetween SE University Avenue and Ashworth Road
SE University Avenue between SE LA Grant Parkway and the east city limits
Ashworth Road between 6th Street (R-22)and the east city limits
WIE Hickman Road between the west city limits and the east city limits
B.Any motor vehicle weighing five (5)tons or more,when loaded or empty,having a
fixed terminal,making a scheduled or definite stop within the city for the purpose
over or upon the designated routes set out in this section to the nearest point of its
scheduled or defmite stop and shall proceed thereto,load or unload and return,by the
most direct route to its point of departure from said designated route.
C.The owner,or any other person,employing or otherwise directing the driver to any
vehicle shall not require or knowingly permit the operation of such vehicle upon a
street in any manner contrary to this section.
Section 2.Renealer,All ordinances or parts of ordinances ill conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3.Severability Clause.If any section,provision or part of this ordinance shall
be adj udged invalid or unconstitutional,such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the
ordinance as a whole 01'any section,provisions or part thereof not adjudged invalid or
unconstitutional.

Section 4.Effective Date.This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final
passage,approval and publication as provided by law.
Passed by the Council the 12th day of September,2011,and approved this 12'h day of September,
