REGARDING ONE-WAY STREETS AND ALLEYS
WHEREAS,the original Waukee Elementary School is not being utilized by the
Waukee Community School District at this time as an active school;AND
WHEREAS,as a result of the change in activity at that site,traffic congestion and traffic
pattems have been reduced allowing for the restoration of two way traffic on Cherry Street from
Fifth to Sixth streets;and Fifth Street from Cherry Street to Locust Street south of Locust Street;
AND
WHEREAS,the City has determined that there is no longer a need for a one-way street
on at the aforementioned locations.
BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waukee :
Section I:Section 501.13 of the Waukee Municipal Code is amended by repealing
subparagraph A(2)and A(3)as follows:
2.Cherry Street,eastbound only from the east line of Sixth Street to the east line
of Fifth Street,from 7:30 A.M.to 4:30 P.M.,Monday through Friday during the
school year.
3.Fifth Street,northbound only from the south line of Cherry Street to the south line
of Locust Street,from 7:30 A.M.to 4:30 P.M.,Monday through Friday during the
school year.
Section 2 Repealer.All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions
of tins ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3.Severability Clause.If any section,provision or part of this ordinance shall
be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional,such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the
ordinance as a whole or any section,provisions or part thereof not adjudged invalid or
unconstitutional.
Section 4.Effective Date.This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final
passage,approval and publication as provided by law.
