AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 501,WAUKEE MUNICIPAL CODE,
REGARDING THE SPEED LIMIT ON SE L.A.GRANT PARKWAY SOUTH OF
WAUKEE MIDDLE SCHOOL WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
WAUKEE,IOWA.
WHEREAS,an engineering traffic study was conducted by the City through V &K
Engineering which recommends that the speed limit on LA GRANT P ARKW A Y from a point
1210 feet south of the middle of its intersection with Westown Parkway to the north line of
Ashworth Road be established at 45 mph;AND
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,on the basis of the traffic study,deems it appropriate to
establish the speed limit accordingly.
BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waukee:
Section 1:Chapter 501,Waukee Municipal Code,Regulation of Traffic Upon and Use
of the Streets of Waukee,Iowa,is hereby amended by adding Section 501.9F(1)(c)as follows:
§501.9(F)(1)(c)The speed limit on SE L.A.Grant Parkway,also known as V Avenue,
from a point 1210 feet south of the middle of its intersection with Westown Parkway to the
north line of Ashworth Road,also known as 320'h Street,shall be 45 miles per hour.
Section 2 Repealer.All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions
of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 2.Severability Clause.If any section,provision or part of this ordinance shall
be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional,such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the
ordinance as a whole or any section,provisions or part thereof not adjudged invalid or
unconstitutional.
Section 4.Effective Date.This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final
passage,approval and publication as provided by law.
Passed by the Council the 1st day of November,2010,and approved this 1st
2010.
