AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 501,WAUKEE MUNICIPAL CODE,
TRAFFIC REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF WAill<EE,IOWA,BY REPEALING
THE CURRENT SECTION 501.18 AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF THE
FOLLOWING PROVISIONS FOR THROUGH STREETS AND STOP
INTERSECTIONS
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee is has determined that Section 501.18 should be repealed.
BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waukee:
Section 1.Chapter 501,Waukee Municipal Code,Traffic Regulations,Section 501.18,
should be and the same is hereby repealed and enacted in lieu thereof is Section 501.18,Through
Streets and Stop Intersections,as follows:
§501.18 Through Streets and Stop Intersections.The following streets and
intersections are through streets and stop intersections as indicated and stop signs shall be erected
at the entrance to the intersections as indicated below.
A.Ashworth Drive,from U.S.Highway No.6,at the west city limits to
the east city limits,except at 6th Street,4th Street,Warrior Lane,and
SE University Avenue.
B.6th Street,from U.S.Highway No.6 to the south City limits,except at
Ashworth Drive.
C.U.S.Highway No.6 from Ashworth Drive on the west City Limits to
Warrior Lane.
D.8th Street,from the south line of Ashworth Drive to the north line of
Cherry Street.
E.Walnut Street,from the west line of 6th Street to the east line of 8th
Street.
F.Locust Street,from the west line of 6th Street to the east line of 8th
Street.
G.4th Street,from the south City limits to the south line of Ashworth
Drive and from the north line of Ashworth Drive to the south line of
U.S.Highway No.6.
H.Laurel Street,from the east line of 6th Street to the west line of 4th
Street.
1.3rd Street,from the south city limits to the south line of Ashworth
Drive,except at Northview Drive.
J.2nd Street,from the south city limits to the south line of Ashworth
Drive,except at Northview Drive.
K.Warrior Lane,from the south line of Bel Aire Drive to the south line
of U.S.Highway No.6,except at Ashworth Drive.
L.Cherry Street,from the west line of 6th Street to its terminus at the
east line of 8th Street extended.

M.Corene Avenue from the west line of 1st street to the east line of3rd
Street.
N.All of University Avenue within the city limits of Waukee from its
intersection with Ashworth Drive on the west to the city limits of
Waukee,Iowa,on the east.
O.Southfork Drive from Walnut Ridge Drive to its terminus.
P.Walnut Ridge Drive from University Avenue to its terminus.
Q.Second Street Court from the South line of Corene Avenue South to its
terminus.
R.Northview Drive at 6th Street East bound.
S.7th Street at Northview Drive South bound.
T.Sth Street at Northview Drive North bound.
U.Sth Street at Northview Drive South bound.
Section 2.Chapter 501,Waukee Municipal Code,Traffic Regulations,is hereby amended
by adding Section 501.1SA,3-Way Stop Intersections,as follows:
§50l.1SA 3-Way Stop Intersections.
A.The intersection of Warrior Lane and SE University Avenue.Both
South Bound traffic on Warrior Lane and North bound and East bound
traffic at the intersection of Warrior Lane and University Avenue shall
stop;and West bound traffic on University Avenue at its intersection
with Warrior Lane shall stop.
B.Eighth Street at Cherry Street.
C.The intersection of Indigo Lane and Olson Drive.
D.The intersection of Crabapple Drive and Windfield Parkway.
Section 3.Chapter 501,Waukee Municipal Code,Traffic Regulations,is hereby amended
by adding Section 501.1SB,4-Way Stop Intersections,as follows:
§50l.1SB 4-Way Stop Intersections.
A.Ashworth Drive at 6th Street.
B.Ashworth Drive at 4th Street.
C.SE Boone Drive and SE Olson Drive
D.3rd Street and Northview Drive
E.2nd Street and Northview Drive.
F.6th Street and Locust Street.
G.Warrior Lane and Windfield Parkway/SE Windfield Parkway
H.SE Florence Drive and SE Booth Avenue
1.SE Florence Drive and SE Rosenkranz Drive
J.SE Whitetail Lane and SE Marshall Drive
K.SE Applewood Lane and SE Olson Drive
L.SE MapleleafLane and SE Olson Drive
M.Eighth Street and Walnut Street

N.SE Olson Drive and SE Westgate Drive.
O.SE Waco Place and SE Olson Drive.
Section 4.Chapter 501,Waukee Municipal Code,Traffic Regulations,is hereby amended
by adding Section 50USC,5-Way Stop Intersections,as follows:
§50USC 5-Way Stop Intersections.
A.Warrior Lane,Ashworth and Northview Drive intersection.
Section 5.Repealer.All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions
ofthis ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 6.Severability Clause.If any section,provision or part of this ordinance shall
be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional,such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the
ordinance as a whole or any section,provisions or part thereof not adjudged invalid or
unconstitutional.
Section 7.Effective Date.This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final
passage,approval and publication as provided by law.
Passed by the Council the 2nd day of November 2009,and approved this 2nd day of November
2009.
