HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008-06-16-Ordinance 2633_Speed LimitsORDINANCE NO.2633 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 501,WAUKEE MUNICIPAL CODE, REGARDING SPEED LIMITS ON SOME STREETS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA. WHEREAS,the City of Waukee is has obtained the results of a traffic study prepared by Veenstra &Kimm,Inc.dated April 24,2008;AND WHEREAS,the City of Waukee has determined to implement changes to their ordinance relative to speed limits on certain streets within the City ofWankee as a result of said traffic study. BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED by the City Council of the City ofWankee: Section 1:Chapter 501,Waukee Municipal Code,Regulation of Traffic Upon and Use of the Streets ofWankee,Iowa,is hereby amended by adding Section 501.9F(9)as follows: §501.9(F)(9)The speed limit on Brick Drive,from US Highway 6 south to just north of University Avenue,shall be 35 miles per hour. Section 2:Chapter 501,Waukee Municipal Code,Regulation of Traffic Upon and Use of the Streets of Waukee,Iowa,is hereby amended by adding Section 501.9(F)(1O)as follows: §501.9(F)(1O)The speed limit on Waco Place,from the south line of US Highway 6 to just north of Laurel Street,shall be 35 miles per hour. Section 3:Chapter 501,Waukee Municipal Code,Regulation of Traffic Upon and Use of the Streets of Waukee,Iowa,is hereby amended by adding Section 501.9(F)(l1)as follows: §501.9(F)(1l)The speed limit on Legacy Point,from the south line of US Highway 6 to just north of Laurel Street,shall be 30 miles per hour. Section 4 Repealer.All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 5.Severability Clause.If any section,provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional,such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section,provisions or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. Section 6.Effective Date.This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final passage,approval and publication as provided by law.
