HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-12-19-Ordinance 2566_Sewer RatesORDINANCE NO.2566 IANORDINANCETOAMENDCHAPTER204,WAUKEE MUNICIPAL CODE,BY REPEALING THE EXISTING RATES FOR SEWER AND ENACTING NEW RATES AS SPECIFIED BELOW: WHEREAS,the City of Waukee has determined to change the rates for sewer usage. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waukee: Section 1:Chapter 204,Waukee Municipal Code,Section 204.5 should be and the same is hereby repealed and enacted in lieu thereof is as follows: §204.5 Rate of Rent and Manner of Payment. The rate of rent shall be: Beginning January 1,2006,the base charge will increase to $6.22 for the first 1,000 gallons and water usage in excess of the minimum (1,000 gallons)will increase to $4.70 per 1,000 gallons per month. Beginning July I,2006,the base charge will increase to $6.66 for the first 1,000 gallons and water usage in excess of the minimum (1,000 gallons)will increase to $5.03 per 1,000 gallons per month. Beginning July I,2007,the base Charge will increase to $7.12 for the first 1,000 gallons and water usage in excess of the minimum (1,000 gallons)will increase to $5.39 per 1,000 gallons per month. Beginning July 1,2008,the base Charge will increase to $7.62 for the first 1,000 gallons and water usage in excess of the minimum (1,000 gallons)will increase to $5.76 per 1,000 gallons per month. The rent shall be paid under the water bill at the time payment of the water bill is due and under the same conditions beginning with the next payment after connection to the sewer system is made. Section 2.Repealer.All ordinances or parts of ordinances m conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3.Severability Clause.If any section,provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional,such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section,provisions or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.I 1 Section 4.Effective Date.This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final passage,approval and publication as provided by law.
