AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 304.5(M)(7),WAUKEE MUNICIPAL CODE,
SITE PLAN REQUIREMENTS OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA,BY ADDING
LANGUAGE TO SUBSECTION 'A'TO ELIMINATE THE USE OF RESIDENTIAL-STYLE
V lNYL OR METAL SIDING AND TO LIMIT THE USE OF METAL PANELING AS TRJM
MATERIAL TO NOT MAKE UP MORE THAN 10%OF ANY ELEVATION;SO THAT SAID
SUBSECTION 'A'READS AS FOLLOWS:"ALL BUILDINGS MUST BE DESIGNED TO
INCLUDE BRICK,STONE OR GLASS ON AT LEAST 70%OF EACH ELEVATION.SPLIT
FACE BLOCK,EFIS AND PRECAST MATERIALS MAY BE USED AS A SECONDARY
MATERIAL.RESIDENTIAL-STYLE VINYL OR METAL SIDING MAY NOT BE USED.
METAL P ANELING MAY BE USED AS A TRJM MATERIAL AND MUST NOT MAKE UP
MORE THAN 10%OF ANY ELEVATION."
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Waukee:
Section 1.Section 304.5(M)(7)(a),Waukee Municipal Code,Site Plan Requirements ofthe
City of Waukee,is hereby amended to read as follows:
"All buildings must be designed to include brick,stone or glass on at least 70%of
each elevation.Split face block,EFIS and precast materials may be used as a
secondary material.Residential-style vinyl or metal siding may not be used.Metal
paneling may be used as a trim material and must not make up more than 10%of J
any elevation."
Section 2.Repealer.All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions
of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3.Severability Clause.If any section,provision or part of this ordinance shall be
adjudged invalid or unconstitutional,such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance
as a whole or any section,provision,or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 4.Effective Date.This ordinance shall be in effect upon its final passage,
approval and publication as provided by law.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,this 4th day of October 2004,and
approved this 4th day of October 2004.
