AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 106,WAUKEE MUNICIPAL CODE,
POSTING PLACES,BY DELETING CHAPTER 106 AND INSERTING IN LIEU
THEREOF A REVISED CHAPTER 106 FOR THE PURPOSE OF UPDATING PLACES
FOR PUBLIC POSTING OF AGENDAS OR OTHER PUBLIC NOTICES,REQUIRED
OR PERMITTED TO BE POSTED BY LAW;AND PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY
FOR UNLAWFUL REMOVAL OF SUCH NOTICES
Section 1.Amendment.Chapter 106,Waukee Municipal Code is hereby amended
to read as follows:
THE SETTING OF PLACES FOR PUBLIC POSTING OF AGENDAS OR
OTHER PUBLIC NOTICES REQUIRED OR PERMITTED TO BE POSTED BY LAW;
AND PROVISIONS FOR A PENALTY FOR UNLAWFUL REMOVAL OF SUCH
NOTICES
§106.1.Purpose.Whereas,there is no newspaper published
within the corporate limits of this city,agendas or other public notices
are permitted by law to be posted in three public places,the Council
desires to permanently designate three public places so that citizens of
the city may readily ascertain the agenda and other such notices without
doubt as to place of notice.
§106.2 Listing of Places of Posting and Length of Notice.
The three places where public notice of agendas and other matters
permitted to be posted to be displayed are:
Waukee City Hall
United States Post Office,Waukee,Iowa
Community Center,Waukee,Iowa
Agendas are to be posted minimally 24 hours prior to the meeting and
may be removed after the meeting for which the agenda is posted.Other
notices must remain posted for the length of time required by the notice;
such notice to be dated at the bottom of the first page of the notice as to
when the notice may be removed.
§106.3 Removing Notice,Unlawful.Removal of a public
notice by persons other than the City Clerk prior to the end of the
meeting which is being noticed or before the date noted at the bottom of
the first page of other such notices,shall be a misdemeanor.
Section 2.Repealer.All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3.Severability Clause.If any section,provision or part of this ordinance
shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional,such adjudication shall not affect the validity

of the ordinance as a whole or any section,provision,or part thereof not adjudged invalid or
unconstitutional.
Section 4.Effective Date.This ordinance shall be in effect upon its final passage,
approval and publication as provided by law.
