AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND §803 UNIFORM FIRE CODE AND THE
UNIFORM FIRE CODE STANDARDS ADOPTED BY REFERENCE AND MADE A
PART OF THE WAUKEE MUNICIPAL CODE,BY ADDING §1211.1 PROVIDING
THAT EXITING ILLUMINATION SHALL BE PROVIDED BY BATTERY PACK OR
ON-SITE GENERATOR TO RESTROOMS WITH MORE THAN ON FIXTURE AND
HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY.
Section 1.§803 Uniform Fire code and the Uniform Fire Code Standards
adopted by reference and made a part of the Waukee Municipal Code,is hereby
amended by adding thereto §1211.1 as follows:
§1211.1 Exiting Illumination Shall Be Provided By Battery Pack or On-Site
Generator to Restrooms With More Than One Fixture and Handicap
Accessibility.Exiting illumination shall be provided by battery pack or on-site
generator to restrooms with more than one fixture and handicap accessibility.
Section 2.Repealer.In any case where the provisions of this ordinance,the
Uniform Fire Code,or other ordinances of the City of Waukee,shall be found to be in
conflict,and in which statutes of the State of Iowa do not control,the provision which
establishes the higher standard for the promotion and protection of the safety of persons
and property shall prevail.
Section 3.Severability Clause.If any section,provision or part of this
ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional,such adjudication shall not affect
the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section,provision,or part thereof not
adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 4.Effective Date.This ordinance shall be in effect upon its final
passage,approval and publication as provided by law.
Passed by the Council this 5th day of June,2000 and approved this 5th day of
June,2000.
