AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 502.2 &502.3,WAUKEE 'I
MUNICIPAL CODE,BY DELETING SAID SECTION AND PLACING IN LIEU
THEREOF SECTION 502.2 &502.3 AS REVISED TO INCLUDE PROHIBITION
OF PARKING ON THE WEST SIDE OF THIRD STREET AND THE EAST OF
THIRD STREET FROM LAUREL STREET TO LOCUST STREET BETWEEN
THE HOURS OF 6:00AM AND 6:00PM MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.
Section 1.Purpose.The purpose of this ordinance is to prohibit parking on
Third Street at certain time so as to provide for safe passage along said public right-of-
way.
Section 2.This ordinance shall provide for the deletion of Section 502.2 and
placing in lieu thereof the following:
§502.2 No parking is permitted at any time on the east side of the
following north-south streets:
Dogwood Lane
Eighth Street
First Street Place
Kaylin Drive
Meadowlark Lane (NE)
Melrose Drive
Ninth Street
Peachtree Drive
Plumwood Lane
Second Street:
from Southview to Parkview
Terrace Drive
Third Street:

from Laurel Street to Locust Street between 6:00 a.m.and
6:00 p.m.Monday -Friday
Whitetale Lane (NE)
Section 3.This ordinance shall provide for the deletion of Section 502.3 and
placing in lieu thereof the follow:
§502.3 No parking is permitted at any time on the west side of the
following north-south streets:
Alice's Road (a.k.a.W Avenue)
from the northern corporate limits to a point 2,500 feet
south of said point of beginning
Ashland Court
Fifth Street:
south of Ashworth Drive
Forth Street
Glendale Drive
Linden Drive
Mapleleaf Lane
Oakleaf Lane
Second COUli Street
Third Street:
from Laurel Street to Locust Street
Westgate Drive
Woodcrest Drive
Section 4.Repealer.All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with
the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 5.Severability Clause.If any section,prOVISIOnor part of this
ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional,such adjudication shall not affect
the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section,provision,or part thereof not
adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 6.Effective Date.This ordinance shall be in effect upon its final
passage,approval and publication as provided by law.

Councilman Lyon introduced an ordinance amending Sections 502.2 and 502.3,Waukee
Municipal Code,by deleting said Section and place in lieu thereof Section 502.2 and
502.3 as revised to include prohibition of parking on the west side of Third Street and the
East of Third Side from Laurel Street to Locust Street between the hours of 6:00 am.and
6:00 pm.,Monday through Friday.
June 7,1999 -Ordinance Prohibiting Parking on certain parts of Third St.Motion
by Councilman Lyon,seconded by Councilman Berger,to have the City Clerk read the
ordinance for the first time in title only.The Mayor asked for a roll call vote:Ayes:
Lyon,Berger,Gruber,and Peard.Nays:None.Motion carried 4 to O.
June 7,1999 -Ordinance Prohibiting Parking on certain parts of Third St.Motion
by Councilman Lyon,seconded by Councilman Gruber,to waive second and third
readings.The Mayor asked for a roll call vote:Ayes:Lyon,Gruber,Berger,and Peard.
Nays:None.Motion carried 4 to O.
June 7,1999 -Ordinance No.2297.Prohibiting Parking on certain parts of Third
St.Motion by Councilman Lyon,seconded by Councihnan Gruber,to place the
ordinance on final passage.The Mayor asked for a roll call vote:Ayes:Lyon,Gruber,
Peard,and Berger.Nays:None.Motion carried 4 to O.
