AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER'S 203 AND 204,WAUKEE MUNICIPAL CODE,
WATER RATES AND PROVISIONS FOR SEWER RENTAL,DECREASING THE MINIMUM
USAGE FROM 2000 TO 1000 GALLONS,AND PLACING IN LIEU TIIEREOF TIIE FOLLOWING
RATE OF BILLING ADJUSTMENTS.
BElT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Waukee:
Section 1.Section's 203.2 and 204.5 of Chapter's 203 and 204,Waukee Municipal Code,
are hereby deleted in their entirety,and the following is placed in lieu thereof:
1.Section 203.2
Water Rates.Water shall be furnished at the following monthly rates per meter
within the city limits:
A minimum monthly bill of $8.60 shall be charged for zero to 1,000 gallons of
metered water usage per month.
Water usage in excess of the minimum (1,000 gallons)will be charged at a rate
of $6.40 per 1,000 gallons per month.
All users outside city limits of Waukee will be charged $17.20 per month
minimum and 150%of the above designated rates per meter:
Water will not be furnished outside the limits of Waukee without consent of Des
Moines Water Works.
IT.Section 204.5
Rate of Rent and Manner of Payment.The rate of rent shall be:
A minimum monthly sewer bill of $5.16 shall be charged for zero to 1,000
gallons of water usage per month.
Water usage in excess of the minimum (1,000 gallons)will incur a waste water
charge of$3.84 per 1,000 gallons per month.
The rent shall be paid under the water bill at the time payment of the water bill is
due and under the same conditions beginning with the next payment after
connection to the sewer system is made.
Section 2.Repealer.All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of
this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3.Severability Clause.If any section,provision or part of this ordinance shall be
adjudged invalid or unconstitutional,such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a
whole or any section,provision,or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 4.Effective Date.This ordinance shall be in effect upon its final passage,approval
and publication as provided by law.
