AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 203 OF THE WAUKEE MUNICIPAL
CODE,WATER RATES,BY LOWERING THE RATE FROM $6.40/1000
GALLONS TO $5.90/1000 GALLONS
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Waukee:
Section 1.Section's 203.2 of Chapter 203,Waukee Municipal Code,is hereby deleted in its
entirety,and the following is placed in lieu thereof:
I.Section 203.2
Water Rates.Water shall be furnished at the following monthly rates per meter within
the city limits:
A minimum monthly bill of$7.95 shall be charged for zero to 1,000
gallons of metered water usage per month.
Water usage in excess of the minimum (1,000 gallons)will be charged at
a rate of$5.90 per 1,000 gallons per month.
All users outside city limits of Waukee will be charged $12.00 for zero to 1,000 gallons
of metered water usage per month,and $8.63 per 1,000 gallons per month in excess of
the first 1,000 gallons.I
Water will not be furnished outside the limits of Waukee without consent of Des Moines
WaterWorks.
Section 2.Repealer.All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of
this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3.Severability Clause.If any section,provision or part of this ordinance shall be
adjudged invalid or unconstitutional,such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a
whole or any section,provision,or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 4.Effective Date.This ordinance shall be in effect the billing month of September,
receivable in October,after its final passage,approval and publication as provided by law.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,this 17th day of August,1998,and approved
