PLUMBINGCODE STANDARDSOF THE WAUKEE,IOWA,BUILDING CODE
BY ADDINGSECTION 906 (C)REQUIRINGBACKWATEROR SWINGCHECKVALVES
ON ALL SANITARYSEWERDRAINS IN THE CITY OF WAUKEE,DEFINING LIMITS
ANDMAKINGCERTAINDELETIONS,MODIFICATIONSANDAMENDMENTSTHERETO.
Section 1.§906 UnifOl:m Plumbing Code and the Uniform
Plumbing Code Standards of the Waukee,Iowa,Building Code
Amendments.§906 is hereby amended by adding the following
subsection:
c.Drainage Piping to Sanitary Sewer.All draining pa.panq
at its connection to sanitary sewer drain in the City of
Waukee shall be protected from backflow of sewage by
installation of an approved type backwater or swing check
valve.
Section 2.Repealer.In any case where the provisions of
this ordinance,the Uniform Plumbing Code,or other ordinances of
the City of Waukee,shall be found to be in conflict,and in which
statutes of the State of Iowa do not control,the provision which
establishes the higher standard for the promotion and protection
of the safety of persons and property shall prevail.
Section 3.Severability Clause.If any section,provision
or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitu-
tional,such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the
ordinance as a whole or any section,provision,or part thereof not
adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 4.Effective Date.This ordinance shall be in effect
upon its final passage,approval and publication as provided by
law.
