AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 111.7,WAUKEE,MUNICI-
PAL CODE,AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR A PURCHASE ORDER OF
THE CLERK OF TWO HUNDREED DOLLARS ($200.00)WITHOUT ADDI-
TIONAL APPROVAL;AND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00)WITH
THE APPROVAL OF A COUNCILMAN WHO IS CHAIRMAN OF THE
COMMITTEE OVERSEEING SUCH EXPENDITURE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Waukee:
Section 1.Section 111.7 of the Waukee Municipal
Code is amended by deleting the following language:
"one hundred dollars ($100.00),"
And by inserting in lieu thereof the following:
"two hundred dollars ($200.00);"
And by adding thereto the following:
"provided,however,the limitation on
purchases contained herein shall be raised
to five hundred dollars ($500.00)when the
Clerk shall have obtained the approval of
such purchase from a council member who is
committee chairman of the committee in
charge of said purchase."
Section 111.7 shall now read
All purchases of services,supplies and
equipment shall be made only after issuance
of a purchase order,and no invoice shall
be accepted unless authorized by such an
order.Purchases not exceeding two hundred
dollars ($200.00)may be made by the Clerk
or those officials authorized by the
clerk,but only on issuance of a spot
purchase order in writing signed by the
authorized officer.A copy of such spot
purchase order must be delivered to the
clerk within twenty-four (24)hours,
weekends and holidays excepted.All other
purchases shall be valid only if a purchase
order has been given in writing and signed
by the clerk.Purchases from petty cash and
continuing purchases from vendors awarded
extended contracts by bid award shall be

excepted.Provided,however,the limitation
on purchases contained herein shall be

when the clerk shall have obtained the
approval of such purchase from a council
member who is committee chairman of the
committee in charge of said purchase.
