JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Clubhouse Manager Reports to: Parks & Recreation Director
Dept/Div: Parks & Recreation/Golf Direct Reports: Clubhouse Lead, Clubhouse
Pay Grade: N18 Assistant, Golf Course Attendant
FLSA Status: Hourly/Exempt-Seasonal Rec.
JOB PURPOSE: The Clubhouse Manager leads the day-to-day operation of Sugar Creek Golf Course
clubhouse performing all duties of manager and clubhouse staff to ensure successful
operation of the clubhouse.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Leads and directs the Sugar Creek Golf Course Clubhouse staff through selection, orientation, training,
performance management and discipline according to standard operating procedures, City policy and
department rules and regulations.
2. Prepares annual budget for Clubhouse operations.
3. Organizes, schedules and follows through on leagues, outings, and tournaments.
4. Completes golf course daily deposit, tracking golf revenues and expenses according to policies.
5. Develops a work schedule for Clubhouse Staff ensuring proper coverage within budget constraints.
6. Interacts with members and guests, answering questions, solving problems, overseeing services and
cleanliness to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
7. Maintains direct communication with Golf Course Superintendent and outside services personnel to ensure
the effective operation of golf course activities.
8. Maintains inventory and orders merchandise, food, and supplies as required.
9. Participates in on-going facility inspections to assure cleanliness, maintenance, safety and other standards
are met and monitor employees’ conformance with safety procedures.
10. Performs other duties or assumes other responsibilities as apparent or assigned.

10. Maintain a positive attitude, professional manner and professional appearance in all situations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma or GED required.
2. Minimum age 18.
3. Familiarity with the rules of golf and golf course etiquette.
4. A minimum of two (2) seasons successful experience in a similar position.

5. Experience leading and developing staff.
6. Confident in the use of computers and tablets and able to be trained in software required to complete the
functions of the position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Required to lift to shoulder height and carry up to 50 pounds.
2. Able to climb in and out of golf carts and other modes of transportation.
3. Able to maneuver along walkways, trails and undeveloped areas.
4. Able to effectively communicate orally (in person and over the telephone) and in writing (using electronic
devices and handwritten) in English with other employees, vendors and the community.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Climate controlled Golf Course Clubhouse with hazards typical to that environment.
2. Occasional outdoor work may be required.
3. During summer months outside temperatures can be over 100 degrees for entire scheduled work day.
4. Standard work hours must be flexible and include evenings and weekends.
5. To successfully fulfill the essential functions of this position, employee must maintain standard work hours
at Waukee Sugar Creek Golf Course.
6. There is no residency requirement for this position.
