Home My WebLink About2009-04-06-Resolutions 09-81_Bonds - Various Series 1998-2001 - RedemptionRESOLUTION 09-81 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE REDEMPTION OF OUTSTANDING GENERAL OBLIGATION PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING BONDS,SERIES 1998,DATED AUGUST I,1998; GENERAL OBLIGATION CORPORATE PURPOSE NOTES,SERIES 1999,DATED MARCH I,1999;GENERAL OBLIGATION CORPORATE PURPOSE BONDS,SERIES 2001A,DATED APRIL IS, 2001;GENERAL OBLIGATION LIBRARY BONDS,SERIES 200lB, DATED AUGUST I,2001;AND GENERAL OBLIGATION URBAN RENEWAL BONDS,SERIES 2001C,DATED AUGUST 1,2001 OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA,AND DIRECTING NOTICE OF REDEMPTION WHEREAS,the City Council has authorized the issuance of $2,990,000 General Obligation Public Safety Building Bonds,Series 1998,dated August 1,1998 (the "Series 1998 Bonds");and WHEREAS,the City Council has authorized the issuance of $2,370,000 General Obligation Corporate Purpose Notes,Series 1999,dated March I,1999 (the "Series 1999 Notes");and WHEREAS,the City Council has,by Resolution dated April 16,200 I,authorized the issuance of$950,000 General Obligation Corporate Purpose Bonds,Series 2001A, dated April 15,2001 (the "Series 2001A Bonds");and WHEREAS,the City Council has,by Resolution dated July 16,2001,authorized the issuance of $2,000,000 General Obligation Library Bonds,Series 200 lB,dated August 1,2001 (the "Series 200lB Bonds");and WHEREAS,the City Council has,by Resolution dated July 16,2001,authorized the issuance of $2,000,000 General Obligation Urban Renewal Bonds,Series 2001C, dated August 1,2001 (the "Series 2001C Bonds");and WHEREAS,the Series 1998 Bonds maturing after June 1,2007 are redeemable in any order of maturity upon giving notice in the manner provided in the resolutions authorizing the issuance of the Series 1998 Bonds;and WHEREAS,the Series 1999 Notes maturing after June 1,2008 are redeemable in any order of maturity upon giving notice in the manner provided in the resolutions authorizing the issuance of the Series 1999 Notes;and -I - WHEREAS,the Series 2001A Bonds,the Series 200lB Bonds and the Series 2001C Bonds maturing after June 1,2009 are redeemable in any order of maturity upon giving notice in the manner provided in the resolution authorizing the issuance of the Series 2001A Bonds,the Series 200lB Bonds and the Series 2001C Bonds;and WHEREAS,it is deemed necessary and advisable that all of the Series 1998 Bonds,Series 1999 Notes,Series 2001A Bonds,the Series 2001B Bonds and the Series 2001 C Bonds be so redeemed and notices of redemption be given. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA: Section 1.The outstanding General Obligation Public Safety Building Bonds, Series 1998,dated August 1,1998,maturing June 1,2009 and beyond,in the principal amount of$1,500,000,shall be redeemed on April 28,2009. Section 2.The outstanding General Obligation Corporate Purpose Notes,Series 1999,dated March 1,1999,maturing June 1,2009 and beyond,in the principal amount of $1,290,000,shall be redeemed on Apri128,2009. Section 3.The outstanding General Obligation Corporate Purpose Bonds,Series 2001A,dated April15,2001,maturing after June 1,2009 in the principal amount of $550,000,shall be redeemed on June 1,2009. Section 4.The outstanding General Obligation Library Bonds,Series 200lB, dated April 15,2001,maturing after June 1,2009 in the principal amount of $1,160,000, shall be redeemed on June 1,2009. Section 5.The outstanding General Obligation Urban Renewal Bonds,Series 2001C,dated April15,2001,maturing after June 1,2009 in the principal amount of $1,220,000,shall be redeemed on June 1,2009. Section 6.Bankers Trust Company N.A.,as Registrar and Paying Agent for the Series 1998 Bonds,Series 1999 Notes,Series 2001A Bonds,Series 200lB Bonds,and the Series 2001 C Bonds,is hereby authorized and directed to cause notices of such redemption to be given not less than thirty (30)days prior to the redemption date.Prior action in sending the notice for Series 1998 Bonds and 1999 Notes is hereby ratified and confirmed. -2 - Section 7.Bankers Trust Company N.A.is hereby authorized and directed to cause to be deposited,from the proceeds of the General Obligation Capital Loan Notes, Series 2009B,an amount sufficient to pay all principal and interest on the redeemed Series 1998 Bonds,the Series 1999 Notes,the Series 200lA Bonds,the Series 200lE Bonds,and the Series 200lC Bonds to the date of redemption.
