RESOLUTION 08-31
APPROVING THE ENGINEERING AGREEMENT RELATED TO THE BRIDGE DESIGN
PORTION OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN INTERCHANGE AT THE INTERSECTION
OF 10STH STREET/ALICE'S ROAD AND 1-80
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORJTY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,the Cities of Waukee and West Des Moines are actively pursuing the construction of an
interchange at the intersection of 105'h Street/Alice's Road and Interstate 80 (1-80);AND,
WHEREAS,an agreement among the Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT)and the Cities of
West Des Moines and Waukee was approved by the Waukee City Council on February 28,2005
(Resolution #05-37),which provides for the development and construction of said interchange;AND,
WHEREAS,representatives for both Cities have interviewed engineering companies for the bridge
design portion of said interchange and recommend retaining the services of Kirkham Michael
Engineering;AND,
WHEREAS,the engineering agreement has been reviewed and approved by the Waukee City
Attomey;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City COlU1Cilof the City of Waukee that thc
engineering agreement related to the bridge design portion of the construction of an interchange at the
intersection of 105'h Street/Alice's Road and 1-80 is hereby approved,contingent upon approval of said
agreement by the City Council of the City of West Des Moines.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,and approved the 4'h day of February 2008.
