RESOLUTION 09-38
APPROVING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMITTEE TO BE KNOWN AS THE
AQUATIC CENTER TASKFORCE
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,the Waukee City Council has determined a need for the establishment of an
advisory committee dedicated to the study of the design and financing of a municipal aquatic
center/swimming pool;AND,
WHEREAS,the Aquatic Center Task Force (the "Committee")shall be established in order to
fulfill this need;AND,
WHEREAS,the Committee shall remain in existence until such time that an election is held on
the financing of an aquatic center;or when the Mayor,the members of the Committee and/or a
simple majority of the Council determine that the Committee is no longer needed;AND,
WHEREAS,the Mayor shall appoint the Committee members,the number of which shall not
exceed twenty (20);AND,
WHEREAS,the Mayor shall also appoint two (2)Council Members to serve as Council
Representatives to the Committee;AND,
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee Assistant to the City Administrator shall attend meetings of the
Committee and shall act in the capacity of support staff for the committee;AND,
WHEREAS,the Committee shall meet as necessary and shall comply with all provisions of
Code ofIowa Chapter 21,Official Meetings Open to Public (Open Meetings)and Chapter 22,
Examination of Public Records (Open Records);
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa on
this the 23'-d day of February 2009 that it hereby approves the establislnnent of a committee to be
known as the Aquatic Center Task Force.
