RESOLUTION 07-35
APPROVING FEES CHARGED FOR SPECIAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL CALLED AT THE REQUEST OF INDIVIDUALS OR GROUPS
OTHER THAN THE MAYOR,CITY ADMINISTRATOR,OR AT THE
REQUEST OF THREE (3)COUNCIL MEMBERS
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas
County;AND,
WHEREAS,Rules of Procedure for Conduct of City Council Business,version August
2003,states that special meetings can be set by the mayor or at the request of three (3)
council members;AND,
WHEREAS,at times,individuals or groups,other than the mayor,council,or city
administrator,may request special meetings of the City Council;AND,
WHEREAS,City staff recommends a fee be charged to such individuals or groups in
order to compensate for additional time and resources spent preparing for requested
special meetings,and in order to encourage individuals and groups to meet submittal
deadlines for regular City Council meetings and defray staff costs incurred in preparing
for and attending special meetings.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session tbis 22ud day of January 2007 that it hereby approves a fee of $350.00 to be
charged per individual or group for special meetings of the City Council scheduled at the
request of individuals or groups.
