RESOLUTION 07-47
APPROVING A PROPOSAL FOR VEENSTRA &KIMM TO PROVIDE
PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SJ£RVlCJ£S FOR THE SOUTHFORK AND
WALNUT RIDGE LOW PRESSURE SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,residences in the Southfork and Walnut Ridge Subdivisions are served by on-site
treatment systems;AND,
WHEREAS,the on-site treatment systems include mechanical and other wastewater treatment
systems with a surface discharge;AND,
WHEREAS,the Iowa Department of Natural Resources has notified the City of Waukee that the
storm sewer discharges must comply with applicable regulations;AND
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee has determined that due to topographic considerations the
preferred alternative for wastewater conveyance and treatment for the Southfork and Walnut
Ridge Subdivisions is the development of a low pressure municipal sanitary sewer system;AND,
WHEREAS,the City is now considering construction of a low pressure sanitary sewer system in
the Southfork and Walnut Ridge Subdivisions,with said project being referred to as the
Southfork and Walnut Ridge Low Pressure Sanitary Sewer System
WHEREAS,the City desires to retain the services of Veenstra &Kimm to provide complete
engineering services on the Project,including design and construction engineering services;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council that the City of
Waukee hereby approves a proposal for Veenstra &Kimm,Inc,to provide professional
engineering services for the Southfork and Walnut Ridge low pressure sanitary sewer system.
Passed by the City Council of the City of Waukee,Iowa,and approved the 26th day of February
2007.
