RESOLUTION 07-263
APPROVING THE COPELAND RECREATION AND SPORTS COMPLEX
MASTER PLAN DESIGN
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WA UKEE,lOW A
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS,on J1Ule4,2007,the Waukee City Council approved a contract with RDG Planning
&Design for design services for the Copeland Recreation and Sports Complex (Resolution #07-
105);AND,
WHEREAS,on July 9,2007,the Waukee City Council approved the appointment of members
to the Copeland Recreation and Sports Complex Steering Committee in order to review the
various requests made for certain Spotts complex amenities and work with RDG Planning &
Design on a master plan design for the complex (Resolution #07 -131);AND,
WHEREAS,a series of public input meetings were held with representatives of RDG Planning
&Design and the Copeland Recreation and Spotts Complex Steering Committee related to
potential sports complex uses and amenities;AND,1
WHEREAS,on November 29,2007,RDG Planning &Design presented the master plan design
in a joint meeting between the City of Waukee Park Board and the Waukee City Council;AND,
WHEREAS,at said joint meeting,the Park Board approved the master plan design and
recommended approval of the plan by the City Council;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
3'd day of December 2007 that it hereby approves the Copeland Recreation and Sports Complex
Master Plan Design.
