RESOLUTION 07-147
APPROVING,PURSUANT TO IOWA CODE §364.12(2)(a),FOR CLOSING SIXTH
STREET FROM THE NORTH SIDE OF LOCUST NORT TO SOUTH SIDE OF
ASHWORTH DRIVE AND CLOSING WALNUT STREET FROM THE ALLEY WEST
OF THE HARDWARE STORE EAST TO THE WEST SIDE OF FIFTH STREET AND
CLOSING ASHWORTH DRIVE FROM THE WEST SIDE OF FIFTH STREET TO THE
EAST SIDE OF SIXTH STREET FOR THE WAUKEE FALL FESTIVAL,BEGINNING
12:00 P.M.SEPTEMBER 13 AND ENDING 9:00 A.M.SEPTEMBER 17
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee hosts a Fall Festival during the third weekend of September;
AND,
WHEREAS,the Fall Festival is located in the downtown area where vendors,entertainers,
entertaining,resting and eating areas are located on streets,grounds,sidewalks,and other public
spaces accessible by the public except by motorized vehicle;AND,
WHEREAS,pursuant to §364.12(2)(a),Public ways and grounds may be temporarily closed by
resolution.)
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
6th day of August 2007 that it hereby approves temporarily closing Sixth Street from the north
side of Locust north to south side of Ashworth Drive and closing Walnut Street from the alley
west ofthe Hardware Store east to the west side of Fifth Street and closing Ashworth Drive from
the west side of Fifth Street to the east side of Sixth Street for the Waukee Fall Festival,
beginning 12:00 P.M.September 13 and ending 9:00 A.M.September 17.
