RESOLUTION 07-205 J
SUPPORT FOR THE DALLAS COUNTY TRANSPORTATION PLAN
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Dallas County,State ofIowa,is a duly organized Municipal
Organization;AND,
WHEREAS,Dallas County and its'incorporated cities have experienced significant growth
within the past fifteen years;AND,
WHEREAS,the continued residential,commercial and industrial development along the
western perimeter of the Des Moines metropolitan area has increased the demands on the
existing transportation system;AND,
WHEREAS,the Dallas County Board of Supervisors has adopted a Transportation Plan that
identifies future corridors for development;AND,
WHEREAS,the regional corridors identified on the plan as the 'Southwest Beltway'and the
'Western Bypass,'a map of which is attached hereto and made part of this resolution,will be
crucial for the future transportation needs of our commuters as well as our business community;J
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Waukee City Council on this I"day of
October 2007 that it hereby endorses the Dallas County Transportation Plan and asks for the
Iowa Department of Transportation's active support and involvement in developing this vital
regional transportation corridor.
