RESOLUTION NO.98-1
CITY OF WAUKEE,lOW A
RESOLUTION ALLOWING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO
BEGIN THE HIRING PROCESS FOR A DIRECTOR PUBLIC
WORKS AS DESCRIBED IN THE ATTACHED JOB DESCRIPTION
AT PAY GRADE 10,AND TO BRING BACK RECOMMENDATION
FOR CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL.
WHEREAS,John Wesselman the Director of Public Works has submitted his resignation,effective January 2,
1998;and
WHEREAS,there is a need for timely replacement of the Director of Public Works;and
WHEREAS,the process of hiring a department Head will take two to three months by the time someone is
actually in place;and
WHEREAS,the personnel committee has reviewed the job description and recommends that it be approved;and
WHEREAS,the City Administrator is in a position to expedite the hiring process,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,the City of Waukee hereby accepts the resignation of John Wesselman
and approves the request that the City Administrator immediately begin the process of hiring a new Director of
Public Works as described in the Job Description at pay grade 10,and to bring back recommendation for City
Council Approval.
