HomeMy WebLinkAbout1997-07-07-Resolutions 97-26_Farmers Market - Parking Space Use FeeRESOLUTION NO.97-26 ] A RESOLUTION SETTING A FEE FOR THE USE OF PUBLIC PARKING SPACES IN DOWNTOWN WAUKEE FOR THE ADMINISTRATION AND COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE FARMER'S MARKET. WHEREAS,there is a need and desire for a Farmer's Market in the City of Waukee; WHEREAS,the area around the triangle in downtown Waukee has been designated as a good location for the Farmer's Market; WHEREAS,there are costs associated with running such a market,for things such as advertising,space reservation,supplies,staffing,etc. WHEREAS,the City Council previously passed a resolution setting the fee at $10.00 per day, or $100.00 per season; WHEREAS,the turn out of vendors has been lower than expected;1NOWTHEREFOREBEITRESOLVED:that the spaces around the triangle be reserved for the Farmer's Market on the days designated by the City Council and that a fee be lowered to $5.00 per day per vendor be charged,or $50.00 per season,in order to help attract vendors to the market.
