RESOLUTION APPROVING THE WAGE SCALE STEP ADJUSTMENTS BASED ON YEARS
OF SERVICES,MERIT AND SUBSEQUENT PROMOTIONS FOR WAUKEE POLICE
DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES,AND MOVING THE POSITION OF CHIEF OF POLICE OFF
GRADE/STEP PAY SCALED.
WHEREAS,the Waukee Police Department has completed employee evaluations;and
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee has a wage scale that has been created for the propose of equitable
compensation;and
WHEREAS,Officer Greg Breuer has handled a steady increase of responsibility,demonstrating both
sound judgement and professionalism;and
WHEREAS,the Personnel Committee has recommended Officer Greg Breuer for the position of Sargeant;
and
WHEREAS,the Personnel Committee has determined that position of Police Chief should be moved off
of the grade/step scale,as said position is appointed by the Mayor;and
WHEREAS,the City Council annually reviews said wage scale and the need for increases to help cope
with inflation and to help keep the wages competitive,or from falling too far behind comparable cities;and
WHEREAS,the Budget Committee and the City Council approved an increase in the FY 1998-99 Budget
in the amount of 3%.
NOW THEREFORE,be it resolved that the attached wage scale is hereby adopted reflecting a three
percent (3%)increase on the start step grade and that such an increase is effective July 1,1998.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the following employees are to be placed in the following Grades
and Classifications as ofJuly 1,1998.

And that Larry Phillips,be placed at a salary level of $42,801.02 per year.
