)A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
A CERTAIN JOINT EXERCISE OF POWERS AGREEMENT
FOR THE PURPOSE OF CREATING A REGIONAL HOUSING AUTHORITY
WHEREAS,the local governing body of the City of Waukee,Iowa,has determined that
a shortage of safe and/or sanitary dwelling accommodations exists in the County
available to low income persons that they can afford to rent and that there is a need for a
Housing Authority to function in the City;and
WHEREAS,the local governing body has further determined a need to join with other
cities and counties in the central Iowa area for the purpose of creating a multi-county
Housing Authority;and
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee proposes to approve the Articles of Agreement for
Creating the Central Iowa Regional Housing Authority.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council,City of Waukee,Iowa,
that the Articles of Agreement,attached hereto as Appendix A and incorporated herein by
reference is hereby approved and adopted in all respects and that this resolution shall take
effect immediately.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Waukee,Iowa,
declares the Execution of a Certain Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement for the Purpose
of Creating a Regional Housing Authority as adopted by this resolution.

CENTRAL IOWA REGIONAL HOUSING AUTHORITY/CITY OF WAUKEE
Amendment to Articles of Agreement adding City of Waukee,Iowa,as a member of the
Housing Authority.
This Agreement,made this I'"day of February,1999 by and between the City of Waukee,
Iowa and the Central Iowa Regional Housing Authority.
WITNESSETH:
Whereas,the Central Iowa Regional Housing Authority is organized pursuant to the
provisions of Chapters 28E and 403 A of the Code of Iowa,and,in accordance with
Chapter 28E of the Code,the Authority's Articles of Agreement were filed with the Iowa
Secretary of State on the 12th day of February,1980 and were recorded with the County
Recorder of Dallas County,Iowa on the 2nd day of May,1990 at Book 683 Page 3;and
Whereas,the Authority's Articles of Agreement provided that any county or city wholly
or partially within the Central Iowa Region may elect to become a member of the
Authority by adopting the Articles of Agreement by resolution of its governing body,and
Whereas,the City Council of Waukee,Iowa,by resolution dated the 1st day of February,
1999,adopted the Authority's Articles of Agreement and authorized its appropriate
officers to execute said Articles of Agreement;and
Whereas,the Authority,by resolution dated this I'"day of February,1999 accepted the
resolution of the City Council of the City of Waukee and made it a part of the official
minutes of the Authority.
The City Council of the City of Waukee and the Authority hereby agree that:
1.The Authority's Articles of Agreement are hereby amended to reflect the addition
of the City of Waukee as a member of the Authority,and the signature of the
Mayor,Donald L.Bailey,Jr.hereto shall constitute that official's signature to the
Authority's Articles of Agreement.
2.This agreement shall not become effective until filed and recorded in accordance
with Chapter 28E of the Code ofIowa.
