A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE NEED FORA HOUSING AUTHORITY
IN THE WAUKEE,IOWA
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL,CITY OF WAUKEE,Iowa that the
local governing body hereby determines,finds and declares that:
1.There is a shortage of safe and/or sanitary dwelling accommodations in the City
of Waukee available to persons oflow income for rentals they can afford;and,
2.There is need for a Housing Authority to function in the City of Waukee;and,
3.The City of Waukee does therefore find a definite need to join with other cities
and counties similarly situated;and,
4.This local governing body joining together with other cities and counties similarly
situated to create a multi-county Housing Authority which may exercise any
power,privilege or authority authorized by the Iowa Constitution or statute or
charter,which a Housing Authority duly designed solely as the Housing Authority
of Waukee,Iowa,or a community might enjoy,but never-beyond the limitation of
such power or authority for the purpose of the development and management of
housing in this County,and other similarly situated cities or counties,and;
5.The shortage of safe and sanitary dwelling accommodations in this County at
rents which persons of low income can afford,compels that this resolution
become effective without delay,and therefore the same shall take effect and be
enforced immediately upon its adoption.
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council,City of Waukee,Iowa
declared the need for a Housing Authority as adopted by this resolution.
