WHEREAS,the Waukee City Council has perceived a strong desire for a connnunity swinnning
pool and additional recreation programs and facilities from its citizens;and
WHEREAS,the YMCA of Greater Des Moines has expressed their support for a YMCA location
in the City of Waukee;and
WHEREAS,the Waukee Connnunity School affirms ajoint effort of the school district and the
YMCA for a connnunity YMCA;and
WHEREAS,a Waukee and YMCA partnership task force has been formed to determine the
connnunity needs for recreation/youth services for families of the Waukee School District;and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,that the City of Waukee supports the YMCA and the
School in their efforts to establish a YMCA facility in the City of Waukee.
