RESOLUTION TO HIRE TROY M.MAPES AS A FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICER WITH
THE CONDITION OF PASSING A MEDICAL PHYSICAL,WITH A EMPLOYMENT DATE
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE WITH A STARTING SALARY OF $26,262.88.
WHEREAS,there has been a vacancy created by the June 30,1999 resignation of Officer Bob Evens;
and
WHEREAS,Chief Phillips and Sergeant Breuer have conducted interviews of potential candidates for
said vacancy,and
WHEREAS,Troy M.Mapes has been selected as the candidate best suited to fill the current vacancy,
and
WHEREAS,Mr.Mapes has satisfactorily completed testing and met all requirements necessary to
comply with the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy and the State of Iowa,and
WHEREAS,Oral interviews and background checks were also done to meet all necessary ]
requirements,and,
WHEREAS,Mr.Mapes has a demonstrated record of 12 years of law enforcement experience.
NOW THEREFORE,be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Waukee that Troy M.Mapes is
hired as a full-time police officer pending passage of a medical physical,with a start date of the earliest
possible convenience and at a starting salary of $26,262.88.
Passed and Accepted this 30th day of August,1999.
