RESOLUTION 09-125
APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN KUTAK ROCK,LLP,AND THE CITY OF
WAUKEE,IOWA,RELATED TO LOBBYING SERVICES
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee,Iowa is a duly organized municipality within Dallas County;
AND,
WHEREAS,in July 2007,the Cities of Waukee and West Des Moines mutually and jointly
agreed to retain the services of Kutak Rock,LLP,to represent the cities in order to communicate
with various officials about the need and justification for the 1051h Street/Alice's Road/I-SO
Interchange project and associated roadway improvements (Waukee Resolution #07-141);AND,
WHEREAS,the Cities of Waukee and West Des Moines have received a letter of agreement
from Kutak Rock,LLP,dated May 15,2009,related to representation of the cities in order to
communicate with various officials on certain appropriation and highway reauthorization
funding requests made to Iowa's congressional representatives;AND,
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of West Des Moines is scheduled to approve the letter
of agreement on June 1,2009;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Waukee,Iowa,in session
this 1'1day of June 2009,does hereby approve retaining the services of Kutak Rock,LLP,to
represent the Cities of Waukee and West Des Moines on the 1051h Street/Alice's oad/I-SO
Interchange project.
