APPROVING 28E AGREEMENT FOR MUTUAL ASSISTANCE FOR FIREIEMS
SERVICES WITH THE CITY OF WEST DES MOINES I]
WHEREAS,the governing bodies of each agency are desirous of entering into a 28E
Agreement,the purpose of which is to provide for the emergency medical services and
firelrescue mutual assistance of one municipality to the other in such emergency
situations requiring additional and/or special personnel and equipment;AND,

IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,
IOWA
WHEREAS,both Waukee and West Des Moines each maintain adequate emergency
medical services and fire/rescue equipment and personnel to respond to the normal
emergencies OCCUlTingwithin their respective jurisdictions;AND,
WHEREAS,situations of short duration may mise in regard to medical and fire/rescue
emergencies or circumstances which exhaust available personnel and equipment,and
require additional or specialty personnel and additional or special equipment that the
responsible jurisdiction may not have available at any given time;AND,
WHEREAS,to combat such emergency situations,it is desirable for the parties to render
needed emergency medical and firelrescue services upon a reciprocal basis;AND,
WHEREAS,approval of the 28E Agreement by the City Connci1 of the City of Waukee
is in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Waukee.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOL YED by the City of Waukee City Conncil in
session this 4th day of Jnne,2001 that it hereby approves the 28E Agreement for Mutual
Assistance between the City of West Des Moines and the City of Waukee.
