RESOLUTION 03-47
APPROVING SOLICITATION OF OFFERS FOR CITY PROPERTY LOCATED AT
500 6TH STREET IN WAUKEE PURSUANT TO SECTION 364.7 OF THE IOWA CODE .
AND SETTING APRIL 1,2003 AS THE DATE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS THEREFORE
AND SETTING APRIL 7,2003 AS THE DATE FOR HEARING THEREON
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the City Council at its January 20,2003 council meeting discussed the disposition
ofthe property at 500 6th Street home of the library until recently;AND
WHEREAS,the City Council requested staff find out what the building would bring on the open
market;AND,
WHEREAS,to find out what the highest bid for the property would be,the City of Waukee
must advertise /offer the building for sale;AND,
WHEREAS,the sale or the potential sale of city property must conform to the requirements set
forth in Section 364.7;AND,
WHEREAS,those requirements are:
1.The council must set forth its proposal to sell in a resolution;
2.A public notice referencing the resolution and setting forth the date,time and
place of a public hearing on the proposal must be published;and
3.After the public hearing,the council may accept the highest bid or rej ect all
bids by resolution.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in session this
3'd day of March 2003 that it hereby approves tile solicitation of offers for city property located
at 500 6th Street in Waukee pursuant to Section 364.7 of the Iowa Code and sets April 1,2003 as
the date for receipt of bids therefore and sets April 7,2003 as the date for hearing the .eon,
