RESOLUTION 01-154
Approving Waukee's REAP Graut Application
IN THE NAME AND BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF WAUKEE,IOWA
WHEREAS,the provision of parks and open spaces is an essential function of city
government AND,
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee's population is increasing rapidly AND,
WHEREAS,The cost of land in the city is increasing,making park acquisition more
difficult AND,
WHEREAS,the Resource Enhancement and Protection grant program administered by
the Iowa DNR provides money for the acquisition and development of park ground and
open space AND,
WHEREAS,the City of Waukee has submitted an application to the REAP program for
a $100,000 grant.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Waukee City Council in
session this 20th day of August,2001 that it hereby supports the City of Waukee's REAP
application.
